Paw-fessional Heroes: A Tribute to Our Pets

On Indian Independence Day, we honor the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters and the relentless efforts of our military. However, we must also acknowledge our four-legged heroes—military dogs—who serve selflessly to protect us.

History of Military Dogs:
The Romans were the first to utilize trained dogs in combat, recognizing their innate desire to please. Throughout history, dogs have supported combat operations, enhancing security and providing comfort.

Military Dogs of India:
Currently, the Indian Army employs around 1,200 trained dogs, primarily breeds like German Shepherds and Labradors. Recently, the Mudhol Hound, an indigenous breed known for its agility and keen eyesight, has been inducted.

Retirement and Welfare:
The Ministry of Defence has implemented policies ensuring no euthanasia or auction of retired service animals.

On this day, Pet Funeral Services takes pride in honoring these loyal companions. We advocate for respectful farewells for pets, committed to our vision of “Offering dignity, Preventing cruelty.” Loyalty, devotion, and unconditional love define these remarkable creatures.
